!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

All 5 lugs came off, no damage to threads on the studs or the two lugs I was able to recover from the side of the road. My run away tire did manage to find some poor saps fender to annihilate and I got a citation for driving with unsafe equipment. Fun Fun Fun.

I think receiving the Citation was the worst part.

Kinja'd!!!

The rest of it sucks, too. Hopefully, it won't cost you much.

The citation will likely cost as much as the repair, these cops have insane ticket prices. and the worst part is, the fine amount does not print on the ticket, you have to wait 30 days for processing to find out the cost online...

I feel ya.

Kinja'd!!!

Miraculously, the wheel and tire made it through that busy intersection without hitting anybody. Came to a rest on the side of the road about 1/8 mile away. It was a fun walk back. Never saw a cop come by and I was there for a while.

I suspect some a-hole wanted to take my wheels since the front wheel on that side was loose too, and I just parked it on the street for a couple days. The other side was still torqued to spec.

I feel like something is missing in that picture, but I can't put my finger on what.
Oh, I know! No 'Oppo' decal.

That sucks. Big time. But I feel it's only slightly worse than having the dealership use the gun to overtorque your nuts so that you can't get them off with the factory equipment and have to call a tow truck so they can use a breaker bar. wtf. And yes I just said I couldn't get my nuts off.

After the second time, I bought a breaker bar and socket to keep in the car for such a future occasion.

Happened to my LGT last year. It was quite the frightening experience- glad you're safe and you only ended up with a citation and some new studs that need to be pressed in

Studs were fine, got home and ran a tap and die over them and it went on and off smooth and with ease, same thing for the lugs I recovered.

I think thats the question is did someone intentionally loosen these.

Thats funny. My dad said the same thing "Those are nice wheels, think someone tried to steal them?" my drivers front had 3 lugs loose too. But if that were the case I don't know why they wouldn't have started with the spare, that's only 3 lugs and no weight on it.

Not sure, Its strange as all 5 come off on the L rear and I later checked, 3 were loose on the L front. all the right side were still tight.

My wheels, as you can see, are not nice. Otherwise, I'm not sure how one side spontaneously rattled loose after being fine for a year.

I had to replace the drum, shoes, and backing plate (which isn't sold separately so I had to go junk yard hopping). I hate working on drums.
